There are 3 fundamental types of Bitcoiners in the scene:

The Fiat-Money makers

Actually the most pathetic type. They bet on Bitcoin prices, invest in it, and plan to exit their investment at some point to continue their fiat-based, material life style at a higher level. Wealthy brat kids looking for a way to make a lot of money with little effort. Just like their fiat parents.

People with principles

They’re in for the freedom. They hate banks and the whole system around it. They dream of a better life style and a better future for their kids. They exactly understand the harm of fiat money and want to change something about it. Genuinely good people who understand the power of Bitcoin.

The Muslim Bitcoiners

They understand everything about Bitcoin that the people of type 2 understand. But that’s not even their primary motivation. Their primary motivation are the commands of Allah ﷻ. They’re not necessarily the most pious Muslims, not the ones with the highest taqwa. But at least they understand that the basis of Islam is justice and that riba is one of the things that does the most harm to it. And a great sin which Allah and his messenger ﷺ has declared war against. In this war, they definitely don’t want to be on the wrong side.

Type 1 is the most common type. You see them in ecstasy when Bitcoin prices are rising. Type 2 are decent people, and they don’t care much about prices. If they have a preference, it’s for lower prices so they can buy more of it. They think in Bitcoin. Type 3 can actually work with them. And type 3 … only type 3 understands type 3.

And as with many things, there are also shades between these types.
