Win 3.0/3.11/95, Init Strings and Drivers
Project Date: 13/03/1995

As soon as I was hooked on the web, I naturally wanted to have it at home too. At the beginning you had to work out complicated init strings for a 14400 baud dial-up modem under Windows 3.11. But with Windows95 things became easier and better browsers slowly came onto the market.

At the same time, the first gatekeepers such as Compuserve and AOL wanted to bind their users to their gated communities. My first email address was a Compuserver address. But the appeal of these communities quickly disappeared and you were always drawn to the right internet. Nothing could beat the real internet. And still can’t.
