I was allowed to use the first WWW browser on a NeXTSTEP machine, 3 of which were located in the computer lab of our university. You had to queue up, so to speak, to be allowed to use these computers. But since then I was hooked. I already knew BTX mailboxes, FTP and remote data transfer in the terminal, but the WWW was really exiting.
If you want to get a feeling of how browsing the WWW in those days was like, here is an emulator that open website in ancient browsers.
