First Computer & first Programming Steps

BASIC Programming on a Commodore 64
Project Date: 12/02/1983

It was the winter of 1983 when my father came home with this bread box. In addition to playing a lot of games, I also started using a hex editor for the first time (to manipulate installed games) and writing my first programs in BASIC. My most successful applications in my private environment were a multiple-choice idiot test, each question decorated with a beautiful 8-bit graphic that at the end calculated how much of an idiot the user was and also a serious spreadsheet program (Office programs didn’t exist back then) with which my father and his engineer colleagues could make their travel expense reports and print them out on a dot-matrix printer.
