Business Growth Spam Mails

I have this guy mailing me every week about one of my websites. A so-called ‘Business growth’ guy. You know them, as a website owner you get a lot of these cold acquisition emails. But this guy is particularly persistent. He even inspected the website, could address some key points and promised a result, like “your visitor numbers will grow from 27 to 325” a day.

Since he has actually made some effort and analized my site, unlike the other Ferengi NPCs who just burst out mass emails, hoping that one in 3000 will fall for their BS, I answered him. I told him that this site of mine is a non-profit website and therefore there’s no marketing budget for it.

Silence. No more emails.

Idiot.

What did he expect? Why should I trust him?

Look, if you’re a growth expert who harasses others, why don’t you offer your services success- and commission-based? Make an offer like:

In 6 months, you’ll be earning $200 a week and I’ll get 10% of it.

Let’s grow together, no? Make 100 such offers to 100 website owners and you would actually prove that you’re a growth expert. Otherwise, I would just assume you are trying to rip me off.
